|The greens that are traded by the A.S.T. are cultivated in the fertile area of Tympaki and of the Messara Plain. This soil is “responsible” for the excellent quality and the exceptional taste of the products.
The Messara Plain is one of the most important agricultural regions in Greece that covers a large part of the total grow in off-season vegetables.
Here the climatic conditions are ideal due to the sunshine almost throughout the year and the fertility of the soil. It is not by accident that the first cultivation of vegetables in this area is dated thousands of years ago.
Today, in this blessed area one thousand five hundred farmers cultivate diligently and with hard work olive oil, fruit and vegetables.
They grow all those products that make up the basis of the Cretan nutrition, which ensures longevity and good physical and mental health and is a worldwide-acknowledged nutritional model.
